Going Back To Philly

We're going back to Philly, Philly, Philly...I don't think so. Phillies are set to take on the ever-fiesty Fish in a 3 game midweek series. The Marlins could potentially sweep the Phils and stake claim to 1st place in the process. On the season, Florida has taken 5 out of 9 contests. Phils are 29-24 at home, while the Marlins are 26-27 on the road. The Phils do have the upperhand in the pitching matchups in this series considering the 3 guys going for the Phils have 28 wins on the season (Jamie Moyer 10, Kyle Kendrick 9, and Cole Hamels 9), and the Marlins only have 4 (Josh Johnson 1, Anibal Sanchez 1, and Chris Volstad 2). Career victories 292 Phils, 28 Marlins. So, we're going back to Philly, Philly, Philly...hahaha I know so. Time to fillet some fish!

Just because the Phillies have more career wins and wins on the year, does not mean that they have the edge in pitching matchups in my opinion. I think that if Johnson and Sanchez had been pitching all year that the Marlins would hold the edge. Hamels has been good, but as sucked lately. Moyer, he just amazes me that he can win a game so easily sometimes at his age. Kendrick, while I'm a fan of his, he has gotten some of those wins by means of luck because he loves to give him up some runs, although he has been more than stellar in his past two starts.

This is going to be a tough series. I'm really just hoping we can take 2 of 3.

i hope we demoralize the marlins in a beat down similar to a prison rape.

Yikes Furious went there... but yea I agree... hopefully the Phightins put a beatdown on the Fish that they won't soon forget. A sweep of the Marlins will scare the Mets into another collapse as well...

Not to worry, the if the Phils sweep the Fish and go up by 5 on the Mutts also, they will come back and lose 5 games in a row to make it a race again.

Moyer just pitches great anymore. Kendrick seems to know how many runs the Phils will score so he keeps allowing less than that each game. Hamels needs to rebound from 2 subpar outings as Volstad is a good prospect who may give the Phils fits. Johnson and Sanchez have been hurt and probably won't be pitching thier best.
Win today, win tommorow, win Thursday.

Wagner to DL? That should help as the rest of thier bullpen is not good.

I don't really think the Phils have the upperhand over the Marlins this series with pitching matchups, I was just trying to put a positive spin on things for a change (which isn't normally my style).

Let's hope Moyer continues to have that great Mojo he currently does against the Marlins!

Moyer has been flirting with disaster all night long. Damn lucky to only be down 1-0. Of course that means the offense is once again sucking nuts. I'm so tired of this offense. I'd love to punch Jimmy Rollins in the face to try and get him back to the reality that his MVP season was last year and this year he fucking sucks. Score some damn runs dickbags!

Ryan Howard is a dumb player. Seriously, he doesn't think much when he's on defense. I hate it that he sucks so bad defensively, catch the fucking ball!
