Seriously, according to these game reports, Benson hasn't shown great command or decent velocity. And even when the guy is healthy and throwing well, he doesn't stay that way for long. Why does anyone think he will have success for the FeHams? And why does anyone think he's going to help the team this year? I would love to see Anna Benson in the Cit stands as much as anybody, but I just don't see it happening this year.

Good to see Howard actually do something productive at the plate last night, but that didn't keep him from tallying another mark in the K column. I worry that because he hit a bomb last night that some in the city will forget about his ineptitude at the playte for a couple days. His 20 HR's and NL leading RBI numbers will never atone for his lack of consistent production at the plate.
It was nice that the Phillies decided to actually give their ace some run support last night for once.
I'm seeing reports from all over that Brett Myers' time in the rotation might be done. Manuel and Dubee both seem very frustrated. I read one story saying that since the Phillies do have an off day this week, they might just skip over Myers' next scheduled start. I still don't want him in the bullpen though because I have no faith in him whatsoever.
They keep saying that Cole will start on Tuesday against Atlanta because of the Phil's day off.
Right now I don't trust Myers whatsoever. And I really like Chad Durbin's spot in the bullpen, I wouldn't mess with it.
I hope the Phils win, but if they lose can't say I'll be all that sad...WNBA here we come!
For all the Phillies woes, nothing can be as bad as the Angels pitching a combined no-hitter and losing the game 1-0..
Cole Hamels won't pitch Tuesday, but rather Thursday. The problem with this is Myers needs replaced in the rotation, not just skipped. Maybe he needs to be sent to one of those baseball shrinks or gurus or whatever to clear up the obvious fog that has built up inside his head.
What is all of this anti-Myers/Howard stuff? Your speaking bad about the ace of the pitching staff and the best hitter on the team. One leads in homers and the other leads in strike outs. (Oh, wait wrong stat for the wrong player)
Myers to the pen? Does that mean Gordon maybe done? I could see JAHapp called up and Gordon to the DL to rest the arm.

This team needs to play with some consistency. If you don't play consistent, it's hard to win consistenly.
