Thirsty Thursday: Celebration

Thinking back to the day that the Phillies clinched the 2007 National League East Division title still makes me smile and look optimistically towards the future. On this Thirsty Thursday I'm choosing to reminisce a bit, so pop a top and get sudsy!

Lets do that celebration 4 times this year: NLEast Champs, Divisional Playoff victory, NL Champs, and of course World Champs.

Despite the trade for Johan, I still feel the Phils are in decent shape heading into the 2008 season. I'd like to see some minor league contracts handed out to some pitchers as insurance policies (Benson and Odalis), but the offense is awesome and the team is set to win.

If Joe Blanton is made available through Oakland the Phils may get involved. He'd certainly fit in nicely to the rotation as a solid #3, bumping Kendrick and Moyer back a spot and Eaton out all together.

Thanks for the love on my blog< The Jock Itch, I thoroughly enjoy your blog and feel the exact same. I also started one strictly Philly Sports, 215sports.wordpress.com . I'm a Philly fan born and breed and I totally agree with the title of your blog, well that I should be GM of the Sixers (I'm a basketball guy) at least when Billy King was around anyway. God he was the worst.

Definitely thirsty after reading that.

Furiousball- that's disgusting. But that's why I love reading your comments.

Eric Bruntlett has agreed to a 1 year 600k deal.

The Phils have designated Anderson Garcia for asignment to make room on the 40 man roster for Pedro Feliz.

I'm still hoping for a Wes Helms trade.

I hope the Phils can somehow continue the momentum ... this core of talent isn't getting any younger, and I fear management won't do enough ...

Bukkake is the noun form of the Japanese verb bukkakeru , meaning
"to splash forcefully."

Thank God for Google. Furiousball is a one man, Zo Zo Zone link repellent. Good Job!

Good to sign Bruntlett at 600K. Excellent.

I hope we pass on Joe Blanton, he is great at home in spacious Oakland, and is on the way to Adam Eaton on the road.

At a quick glance- Joe Blanton will be 27 years old this season, owns a 42-34 record with a 4.10 era and 1.31 whip. Let's dig a bit deeper and see his splits- he's pretty equal against righties and lefties, but he's a monster at home with a 3.55 era and only mediocre away with a 4.66 era. Not quite Adam Eaton bad, in fact there isn't much out there that is.
