On his first pitch of the first bullpen session during spring training Brad Lidge re-injures his surgically repaired knee...silence. That silence was brought to you by the Philadelphia Phillies fanbase as they collectively held their breath in hopes that Lidge's injury was nothing serious.
Exhale- surgery set for today...sh*t! Brad and the club are foolishly optimistic that he'll be ready to go by Opening Day (timetable of layoff 3-6 weeks). I'll be pleasantly surprised if he's back by mid-April. In the meantime Tom Gordon puts on his old hat yet again and becomes interim closer...now doesn't that just spell "relief"?
With a pitching staff that is already Calista Flockhart thin, any injury sustained to a crucial member of it like Lidge hurts...pun intended. Let's not push the panic button quite yet though, and hurry off and sign Kyle Lohse while plugging Brett Myers back into the closer role...give that debate at least another 2-3 days.~Carson

I went to high school with Calista at Shawnee, I never had sex with her, but I could pretend I did to spice up the comments.
I actually find Calista a bit revolting considering the average man would split her in two because of her frail build...what's that say about Harrison Ford them?
According to reports, Scott Rolen would have accepted a trade back to Philly just to get away from St. Louis and Tony LaRussa...funny how things change. But then again, my opinion of him hasn't changed- he's awesome defensively, but often injured, and is a whiny-bitch in regards to personality.
Calista looks downright plump in that picture. Which for her is a good thing. I wish that Lidge's knee was as healthy as Calista looks there... normally she looks about as good Adam Eaton's ERA.
I think the re-scaling of the icon made her look "plump".
By the way, is has been reported that Lidge's surgery was successful and that he honestly hopes to be ready by Opening Day.
I love the Phillies!
Spring is just around the corner.
uh Corey i think your groundhog day post hit a little to close to home yesterday with what happened to lidge....uh Corey i think your groundhog day post hit a little to close to home yesterday with what happened to lidge, it feels like 2007,..... déjà vu all over again(to quote the great Yogi Berra) damn, can't we catch a break!!!!

This is a good group for the future, we all wish we had one top starter, but I think this crew will surprise and only get better over the next two years.
It wasn't Corey's "Groundhog" post, it was mine. And yes, I agree it did seem to hit a little too close to home.
