Screw winter, I hate it! Snow blows, ice irritates, wind chills chap, and slush sucks! I'm ready for some baseball, even if it's in the form of glorified stretching for pitchers and a bunch of squatting for catchers- bring on spring training. In about 12 days pitchers and catchers report for the Phils on February 14th in Clearwater, Florida. The rest of the cast (infielders and outfielders) join in the festivities 5 days later on February 19th with first game action against the Cincinnati Reds coming February 27th. Not many question marks are on the horizon for the Phils this spring as their everyday lineup and bench seem set, and the rotation also appears that way. Things to look for: What to do with Wes Helms? Can Adam Eaton pitch effectively enough to be the 5th starter? Who fills out the bullpen aside from JC Romero, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, Chad Durbin, and Tom Gordon? Don't worry though, I'm sure Mensa member Charlie Manuel will straighten it out beautifully.
