Happy Birthday...

It's January 5th and WSBGM's would like to wish Happy Birthday to these phormer Phillies: 2-Times-A-Phillie Bob Dernier (1957) and Milt Thompson (1959), 1st Round Pick- John Russell (1961), Phucco- Danny Jackson (1962), with Buccos in '92 and Phils 93-94, and Eric Junge- 'ray Bucknell! (1977).

Happy Anniversary to the one-stop crap-carnival known as Ryan Franklin and the futility infielder Kevin Jordan, who were signed on this day in Phillies history.

totally unfair rip on kevin jordan. the man played first, second and third, hit over .275 on three occasions, and made less money in his career than the phils paid no-hit nunez in the last two years, who hit over .275 only once and has a career aerage almost 20 points lower than KJ. this unsubstantiated and uncalled for kevin jordan abuse has made me sad...

You have Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooo much time on your hands to look up those b-days/anniversaries.

Kevin Jordan was one of my favorites despite he never became a star.

Keep doing it Milt Thompson.

Great Job with Cholley as hittin' coach.

The Phillies still interested in Otsuka: A source at the Wilmington News Journal indicated to me that numbers have not been swapped, but talks have re-opened.

Mets going for Blanton. GOOD. He sucks on the road away from his large stadium.

by the way, i'm going to revisit this topic, even though i think most of the phaithful have passed by it:

the phils need to trade for brandon inge. he would be REALLY good for us and b/c of the price (which in reality is actually pretty low) and the tiger's situation, it would not take much in the way of prospects/cash to get him. which is good b/c we're short on both.

oh no. the phils waived matt smith. i'd like to make a rumor that it's to make room for a mega deal bring santana to the phils, but it's to make room for So Taguchi

I too liked Kevin Jordan, but let's not get overly emotional on a career backup here fellas.

I have a job, I have a wife, I have a baby boy, but my only pathetic hobby is blogging/baseball- hence, I'm here posting.

Benjah- I'm still in favor of obtaining Brandon Inge under the right conditions.

I would love to have Brandon Inge. I keep meaning to blog about it, but I never got around to it.

Carson-You requested that I have powder blue jerseys over on my site, and they're finally here! Go check 'em out.
