Carlton Banks Award

The CBA is awarded to the one member of the Phillies organization that most exemplifies this:

And this year's winner is:

--------------------------------
Other news:
Tad Iguchi signed with the Padres last night.

We should be getting a full list of non-tendered free agents today. There should be at least a few names of interest to the Phils to talk about tomorrow.

Cot's has been revised! No more Garcia or he who will remain nameless!

If relief pitcher Matt Wise is non-tendered by the Brew Crew the Phils need to sign him right-quick!

I agree with Carson - Matt Wise in pinstripes stat

GM-Carson said...

Neal Cotts of the ChiSox could help this bullpen too.

Mark Prior may be non-tendered, but expect the Phils to be outbid for his services.

So when the Mitchell Report comes out tomorrow and some former are current Phillies are listed, how will you react?

GM-Carson said...

Neal Cotts was actually a Cub last season, my bad.

Oh, Gillick, please make a move soon to improve this team so we have something positive to talk about.

Wheels doesn't have Carltons full hip swing.
As for the Mitchel report - as long as the team did not promote it, as some others seem to.
Wise/Cott/Prior - we can use at least 1 of those guys. A few of the OF should be of interest.

Crede and Ensberg would be a better fielder than the Dobbs/Helms/Bruntlet combo. They have the ability to be better offensively also.

Still 3 primary needs:
1 RP
2 OF
3 3B
and if they can swing it:
4 SP

oh man, I totally forgot to ask, Corey, how's your butthole today?

If only:
Iguchi had filed paperwork that would've allowed him to be a Phillie. He would've been a great fit into the lineup.

Furiousball, that is a personal question. Hopefully he is feeling regular

Thome's gonna be on the list, thats my guess... it'd be funny if Burrell was.

The only Phillies I can see on "the list" are Abreu and David Bell (Bell's already been named though, hasn't he? or at least suspected?)

Now if we were talking about the '93 team, it would be more like Who's NOT on the list.

Anyone see this: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3151849

Fast Eddie's hard at work.

It looks as if Rowand has signed with the Giants...

The Giants aren't contenders and won't be for some time- money talks I suppose. See ya Fence-Face!

By the way, I don't think Thome juiced, but I could easily be wrong.

GM-Carson said...

Tejada acquired by Nutsack-Face Ed Wade today. He was never really an option in Philly to play 3rd anyway, not with our cheap-ass owners.

those hippies in San Fran can't even get the facts straight about "the crash" - see here:

He also has a reputation as a tough, gritty outfielder, perhaps best-remembered for a 2006 catch with the Phillies in which he crashed face-first into the fence in Chicago and broke his nose, all the while holding onto the baseball.

Want to know what sucks...the Giants have the 5th pick in the draft and it is protected...that sucks. I am more disappointed in that than I am in not signing Rowand.

SirAlden said...

They also have the 5th pick in the 2nd Round. It is now OUR 5th pick in the 2nd Round.

Everyone looking at Rowand aside from the Yankees finished 15-30.

The Giants are assholes!

Speaking of giant assholes- when do you think Gillick will make another noteworthy move this offseason? I know some people are predicting he's done already...I pray not!

Very Soon. Very Soon. We have all the non-tenders tomorrow.
