I'm not sure how long John Ennis will be around, but I realized recently that his full name is John Wayne Ennis, and a name like that deserves a nickname. But I couldn't make up my mind, so I'm putting it up for a poll. Some options:
Cowboy John - after the majority of characters John Wayne played in the movies. Sure, he did war movies and comedies and such, but Wayne will always be remembered as a cowboy.
The Duke - that nickname was good enough for John Wayne, it should be good enough for John Wayne Ennis.
Rooster - although it's a bit more obscure, I like this one because Rooster Cogburn was the name of Wayne's character in one of my favorite westerns, True Grit.
El Pulpo Esta Suspendioso
Carson's thoughts on the suspension: "[it's] bulls**t. The Phils batters have been getting pegged all season and Werth got hit earlier in that Colorado game, a pitcher should be given the opportunity to stand up for his teammates." I agree, but the way to do is not firing one at the opposing batters head. When you obviously, intentionally go at someones dome with a fastball, you have to except a long suspension. However, this sort of thing should have been done a long time ago. If the other team's best player/leader is worried about catching one with his helmet, he may not encourage the pitching staff to go after the Phillies batters so aggressively inside.
Penn State v. Buffalo - 12:00 - Buffalo beat Temple by like 300, and Temple is good, so I expect a close game today.
Lohse v. Pedro - 1:10 - Pedro is due to get lit up, as he's been pretty solid in his first two outings this year. I think the Phils take this one.
Matt Cain v. Brett Tomko - 10:00 - The 2 and 11 Brett Tomko, that is. Great chance for the Padres to drop a game and the Phils to move within a half game. (Especially because the Phils have Gavin Eaton tomorrow and the Padres have Peavy...)
