Simply the Best

Chase Utely, you are the man! Best 2nd baseman in the game without a doubt. Season stats- 42 runs, 71 hits, 25 doubles, 11 homeruns, 47 rbi, .311 average, and a .969 OPS. Fun projection- on pace for 70 doubles (I'd love to see that).

Take That:
Lefty reliever Pedro Feliciano was nearly perfect facing left-handed batters this season before last night, entering the game only surrendering 2 hits in 23 at bats. Chase Utley greeted him with a homerun and Ryan Howard followed that up with nearly a homerun of his own. The Phils managed to double the production of lefties against Feliciano in only 2 at bats. It's nice when the other team is the one getting crapped on.

Familiar Territory:
With last night's win, the Phillies sit smack-dab on .500 yet again. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather be at .500 than moping about a losing record, but winning baseball is so much more pleasant. Tough task for the Phils today against the Mets with Orlando Hernandez on the mound facing one of our overpaid inconsistency- Adamn Eaton. Hey, who knows, maybe Eaton pitches a gem...lets go Phils!

The Phillies are getting better at winning in extras. That was an awesome finish. The boys lift against the mets.

Unlike last year we gotta have a good june. The bullpen has to keep hanging tough for the return of Gordon and Myers. Phils are still in there.

It seems like the return on Myers and Gordon continue to be delayed. I told you the Phils do nothing but lie to their fans...they said these injuries weren't anything serious.

What a load of bollocks that was. Myers is at least 2 weeks away. Lucky we have offense because our pitching sucks. Too inconsistent aside from the King. The boys just have to keep swinging a hot bat and hope the pitchers have good streaks.

Last night was a great win, but I hope it wasn't just a tease.

The past few years the Phils are the ultimate tease...worse than a stripper leaving you hanging.

The Phils are .500! Again!

Seriously, how many times can you possibly get excited by hitting the .500 mark?

For ONCE! please hit .500 and then roll off eight straight. Please?

Is it too let to get a 50% return on Freddy Garcia in the form of Gio Gonzalez? It could be like one of those "As Seen On TV" promotions where if you aren't satisfied you can return the product but keep the free gift [Gio].

Let's see if Eaton can get past the 2nd inning tonight *fingers crossed*

Eaton sucks!

That's my constructive criticism for the day. Wait, that's more like "destructive".

Well even if Eaton does pull his usually awfulness today, the Phils will still win the series when COLE starts tomorrow, so anything from #23 today is just a bonus.

And after that we have the Royals, who have no talent, the ChiSox who have no offense, and then...um, the defending AL champions. Hm.

Chase Utley is so clutch.

Look on the bright side, there's at least a 5% chance that Eaton will pitch great tonight, a 15% chance he'll be good, 30% chance he'll be okay, and a 50% chance he'll suck as usual.*

I liked the money pic today. Salmon Portland Chase is on one version of the $10,000 bill... considering we're rapidly closing in on 10,000 losses as an organization and Chase Utley is one of our brightest spots, it might be apropos to take a look at the Chase $10,000 bill.

GM-Carson said...

Jacobin- you are right on the "money" with that comment. Pun intended.

Thank goodness we have Adam Eaton on the mound tonight ... we should have no problems getting over .500 now...

los, how'd you know that Eaton would deliver. JRoll provided the key hit.

Anyone else notice that Madson, Geary, and Alfonseco are on a roll here?

That was a good baseball game last night and the Phils played good baseball. Timely hitting, solid performance from the starting and relief pitchers, good defense...I like!

King Cole hookin us up with a sweet sweep today?
