Never Doubt the Bat

Pat "the Bat" Burrell had a terrific game last night, going 3-4 with 2 runs scored, 2 homeruns, and 5 RBI. Two jacks in one game was highly doubtful, because he had 1 the entire season, but this just goes to show you should never hate on my boy Burrell.

Some a-hole poster on here named GM-Carson, had this to say yesterday- "This season would easily have another 4-5 wins tacked on if Howard and Burrell were swinging the bats with any type of authority.

We're Burrell supporters on here, but he sucks right now. He draws walks and can throw base runners out from the outfield...other than that he's pitiful. His average is dropping, he no power to speak of. C'mon Burrell we need you. And Howard's struggles have been lamented on here before, so with Howard and Burrell in the 4/5 holes of the lineup, no wonder our offense sucks most of the time. Get your sh*t together!!!"

Hey, GM-Carson, Burrell's got a message for you...

What Up Homie?:
*Cole Hamels won his 5th game last night, and this is important because it keeps the cocky left-hander on pace to win the 20 games he expects of himself.

*Not only does Alfonseca have extra digits on hands and toes, he seems to be packing on some extra pounds to that already enormous bump of a gut. He must be taking a liking to the Philly eateries, possibly stowing away a snack in there for between innings.

*Today's game against the Cubs is being nationally televised on Fox and Corey and I will be there and inebriated. So look for the dude (me) going ape-sh*t in the crowd after a Burrell homerun and a butt-plug (Corey) using Richie Ashburn's crotch as a resting area.

It was only a matter of time, I said it yesterday and I'll say it again... You're my boy Burrell! And I will probably have to say it everyday for the rest of the season.

Keep saying it and hopefully he'll hit a 2 Homeruns every night.

Alright and now is as good a time as any to try this out, if Burrell does NOT hit two more homers today it is because our esteemed SBGMs are there, but if he DOES then he is just pickin up my fantasy team.

Go Phils!!

during the rain delay, I thought I saw two dudes making out...

...was that you guys?

haha skeeter. That's a possibility.

Greg Dobbs is so good. He should definitely be getting more starts. I love 2-out hits.

I want to make a case for Dobbs to play more at 3B. 4 for 4 today with a triple.

Corey and Carson will have an interesting blog tommorow - must of been a fun game to watch. Hopefully Skeeter is wrong about the 2 guys being Corey and Carson.

Good game to be at fellas. Phils win thats the most important thing.

We should keep bagging the Phils because each time we do it they perform. We have bagged Howard, Nunez, Burrell, Eaton. They have put it together immediatley after. Awesome.

Cmon you Phils keep the streak.

Another win!! I could get used to this. Dobbs turned in a nice game. Have you heard that Howard was placed on the 15-day DL? Taking his roster spot is the Great Space Coster! I hate to see the big guy hurting, but the good karma from bringing Coste back makes up for it a little bit.

Hopefully when Howard comes back, they can move one of never-used, piece-of-crap bullpen pieces and keep Coste around!

Yesterday surely was an adventure. Corey will blog about later today in full detail with pictures, but overall it was fun.

Quick breakdown- got kicked out by the cops of our normal tailgating spot. Went to the "Jetro" parking lot and got completely hammered. I got escorted from the Jetro building for using the bathroom. I passed out and puked. But I was good to go for the game. Corey puked too, not so good to go for the middle part of the game. Rain delay sucked, but we had a nice hall-of-fame credentials dispute, and I called both Utley and Chooch's homers...Corey can vouch. Oh yeah, car's battery ran out of juice and had to get jumped and the ride home was horrible...but we had a great time.

Notes: Saturday starter Freddy Garcia doubled in the second inning, the 11th hit by a Phillies pitcher this season. Philadelphia is third in that area, behind the Mets (15) and Marlins (14). Last season, Phillies pitchers finished last in the league with 29 hits.

Jon Lieber, who will take the mound in Sunday's 1:35 p.m. ET series finale against the Cubs, had his start pushed back two days because of a cut on his finger, suffered on Wednesday, when the pitcher was slicing food.

Howard to DL, retroactive to May 10, eligible to return May 25. Chirs "East vs. West" Coste taking his roster spot.

I figured you must have gotten kicked out of Lot Q or somethi8ng as I went there and couldnt find you guys. Maybe next tailgate party we can RSVP
with cell phone #s in case of sudden changes. Anyway, pretty wacky game. I mean, Dobbs?....Choochie rocks and I'll give Geary a pass as he has been very good this season and everybody is going to have one of those kinds of days at some point.

sorry about that. we realized after we had to move that somebody would get lost but there was nothing we could do at that point. pics in such will be up either late tody or tomorrow.

Feast or Famine with this team. Looks absolutely horrible against Lilly today with only 1 gift run. Manuel is showing he's still retarded going to Alfonseca for the 111th game in a row. Seriously, Ant has sucked for the past 2 weeks and Charlies brings him into a 2-1 game so he can load the bases...stupid!

Our left-handed relievers suck. The Model Dictator and Ace of Walks can't throw strikes...infuriating!

GM-Carson said...

Wow, that game sucked! I love Chase, but him getting throw out at 2nd base to end the game was par for the course today, as the Phils played stupid baseball all day. Bad managing, no hitting, horrible defense, and crappy relief.

2 positives- Abe Nunez is still hitting and Donut-Eater continues to pitch well in the rotation.
