Spring Pics

Here are some random spring training pics posted over at philly.com. A few of these are fairly interesting; Davey Lopes training Jimmy Rollins for his upcoming appearance on Dancing With The Stars, Ryan Howard: Bird Trainer, and young Kyle Drabek showing his excitement to be working with the big club. I really like the one where Lieber is working so hard he's throwing his 12-pack around the mound. If his shirt comes untucked, I swear a glazed donut would fly out. Also, it seems Charlie Manuel is a little too comfortable with a baseball bat jammed in his crotch (I was going to circle it like I did with Lieber's gut, but then I re-thought the idea of putting a giant circle around Fuqua's junk, and decided against it.)

I just got done watching Invincible, and I must say I do not miss football practice at all. On the other hand, I do miss baseball practice, as it was more fun than the games some times. Young Drabek better wake the hell up and learn something!

And Corey, thanks for sparing the gratuitous Fuqua crotch circle.

After a winter of thinking he was going to be shipped to the Great White North as a starting pitcher for Ottawa this season, Fabio Castro is being given the opportunity to possibly make the Phils bullpen. That's our Model Dictator boys! Nobody f's with him.

That picture of Manuel with the bat in his crotch is unreal.

Bravo Corey...Bravo!

Strange dreams last night- I dreamt that the Phils packaged Lieber and Rowand to Texas for Otsuka and Wilkerson. I'm not saying that's a dream come true, it was just my dream. Personally I'm leaning towards keeping both, hey the mind works in mysterious ways.

Jesus, Charlie is really hung too, I mean he's freaking leaning on it for balance. He must pass out whenever he gets an erection

Being that the Phillies and Uncle Cholly like to horseplay a lot, If I was Cholly, I wouldnt be standing around with a bat shoved up against my junk in case somebody comes up from behind him and gives him a pretty shove or smack on the back. That reminds me, have you noticed how Cholly always grips the fence on the front of the dugout rail during games? Remember how little kids that would grip the batting cage fence at Little League games would be warned to never, ever do that? One of these times, Cholly might end up having a foul ball break one or more of his fingers.

Ozzie Guillen predicted that Freddy Garcia would win 20 games for Philadelphia, but Guillen still said the Sox got the better of off-season trades with the Phillie.

I sure as hell hope so!!!

Phils manager Charlie Manuel continues to be impressed with what he has seen from righthander Antonio Alfonseca. Manuel also has liked outfielder Karim Garcia, saying he thinks he is a better player than former outfielder David Dellucci.

If Garcia is better than Dellucci I will call Gillick a GM god.

The Phils bolstered their minor league stables with four new arms after a 2-day invitational tryout camp for independent-league players. They acquired lefthanders Jake Ociesa, who showed a 93-mph fastball; and Cory Willey, who displayed a good cut fastball; as well as righthander Jason Wylie, a 25-year-old former Red who took a year off baseball, returned last season and showed up at the camp at 6-5, 245 pounds with a 92-mph fastball; and righthander Michael McTamney, 24, of Toms River, N.J. It was the first tryout camp of its kind run by the Phillies.
