Wow, talk about stunning. First, the tragic accident in New York. Now, Bobby Scales is traded away to Baltimore for "future considerations." As a co-founding member of the Bobby Scales Fan Club, I'm in a state of shock and disbelief. And now to think, bad things usually happen in 3's. What is next...? Well, here it is...longtime Red Barons pitcher Seung-Hak Lee has been released by the Phillies. As if the Asian Phillies weren't bad enough, now Lee is gone. Back to Korea, where I hope he signs with my favorite Korean team, the Hyundai Unicorns. Man, the Asian Phillies are going to suck this year...
Back to "future considerations." What could this possibly be? Well, I've scoured the internet furiously for any sort of rumor as to the nature of these considerations. Here is what I've found so far, there are 4 possibilities:
1) 4 bushels of blue crabs - these little suckers are tasty. But for some reason...could be the fact that Philly isn't on a bay and the only crabs in the Delaware River taste like sewage...you can't get a good blue crab in town without maxing out your Visa. Also, little known fact, Charlie Manuel loves any food he can use a hammer to eat.
2) free tickets to the Babe Ruth Museum - since the Steve Jeltz museum is still under construction, the Phillies front office needs some giveaways to the season ticket holders.
3) autographed Spiro Agnew baseball - famous Baltimorian and former vice president Spiro "Sneaky Greeky" Agnew will do anything to help his beloved O-rioles.
4) 4 weeks of the Baltimore Oriole mascot - the team has said the Phanatic needs a vacation for "personal reasons." The truth: Phanatic has a drinking problem. Rumors are, Phanatic got sauced up on Jose Cuervo and went "Brett Myers" on Mrs. Phanatic. With the Oriole in town for a month to start the year, Phanatic can get some rehab.
So, of the rumored possibilities, which "consideration" would you rather see come our way from the good people in the Charm City?
