Life can be short, life can be funny, life can be weird, and sometimes it's simply eerie. A few days ago, my fellow blogger Corey did a piece on Phillies players and their wives. In his piece he showed this picture of Melanie Lidle. At the time there were no implications that this picture would become relevant, but indeed it has. Cory Lidle died yesterday while piloting his own private plane that wrecked into a NY apartment buildling. Internet surfers must have wanted to find information on his wife, and it just so happened that our site was the second site to be listed via a Google search. We had over 900 hits yesterday, we hadn't had that many total since the end of the season. So, like I said life can be simply eerie. Regardless of past comments about Lidle as a pitcher on this blog, we hope his family pulls through the best that they can given the circumstances, and to Cory Lidle- R.I.P.

Seriously, what the heck is going on? Over the past 2 days we've had 1,500 hits on here.
I'm guessing his autographed stuff is selling like hotcakes on EBAY.
Isn't it weird how certain people are mostly only appreciated posthumously?
Sometimes you don't realise what you had until its gone. Considering the unfortunate circumstance of his passing his stocks will surely rise. All his stuff probably just doubled in value Los because as Carson points out he will be appreciated posthumously.
On a lighter note......1500 hits. Wooo! Soon you'll be advertising!
:]
Bloodstripes- actually we just got an email about advertising on our site, but Corey and I still have to discuss it. I do this thing for my own and others amusement, I don't need it to get commercial.
By the way, Phlashback Phriday will be running a bit late today. Woke up an hour and a half late.
How uncanny is that. I was just kidding around. Well some of the other blogs we read have ads. I was thinking of beerleaguer in particular because it worked on me. I bought a Ryan Howard plaque that was on there. Looks real good next to my 3 phillies pennants. Anyway, well done to you both. Nice to know your being noticed. I'm no mersh fan but whichever way you go won't bother me.
Hey friday the 13th. Without looking over old posts do I recall correctly that today is your birthday? If so happy birthday mate!
I said once that you should get paid to do this.
BloodStripes- it is my birthday today...and thanks!
I'd love to get paid to do this blog. I go do bigger and better things if I had the resources, but it's good as is right now.
Phlashback Phriday might not happen until late this afternoon or early this evening. I'll get it done though...have no fear.

Another former Phillies player dies: Johnny Callison . Not a good week.
Johnny Callison- he's in a book of Phillies legends I just recently purchased. No October baseball in Philliesland, and now no Callison or Lidle either...sad week indeed.
Johnny Callison died?
Oh man! I read about that here.
Another legend leaves us.
carson, happy birthday you flaming H-mo...
corey
Corey- respect your elders. Besides, I may be a flaming H-Mo, but you're a grape smuggling crotch goblin!

Oh and they just said on Daily News Live yesterday that if you take the day of this Tradegy 10/11/06 and flip it upside down it is 9.11.01. That is really freaky.
Maria- thanks for the nugget of info...as that really is some freakily eerie shit!
