Karma of '93

1 game back with 4 to play, we need all the karma we can get right now. Here's a little help from the '93 squad and WPHL 17.

-------------------------------------
Tonight's Matchups

Phil at Wash - Donut Eater Lieber versus Mike O'Conner - O'Conner, despite being 3-8 with a 5.04, has gone 1-1 with 4 earned in 11 innings versus Philadelphia this year. Lieber has given up 4, 2, 4, 2, 4, and 2 earned runs in consecutive games. I set the over/under on ER tonight at 4...

SD at Ariz - Jake Peavy versus Miguel Batista - yeah...no chance for 'Zona in this one, Peavy is on a mission, and he brought his tobacco with him...

LA at Col - Brad Penny versus Byung Kim - not since Hideki "Fat Toad" Irabu has an Asian pitcher sucked this bad...except for Chan Ho Park and that Cleveland Indian who did gay porn in Japan...

Corey

Karma needs to hook us up...if not screw the bitch!

I remember Byung-Hyun Kim from the 2001 Diamondbacks. He'd either strike out the side in nine pitches or give up three home runs in a row--you never knew!

GM-Carson said...

as Wheels would annoyingly say about Kim "he throws frisbees"

Brad Penny apparently has trouble against Colorado.

We could be looking at a 14-13 game out there today.

Penny has struggled ever since the All-Star Game. I think the Rockies pull this one out.

don't underestimate how much b. kim blows. the man is epic in his suckiness.

Glad to see people are still positive on here. If the Phils can break even after tonight then there is some hope, but 1 back or even worse 2 back would be nearly impossible...hell it feels impossible now.

By the way, grab some Dunkin' Donuts if you're out today and eat one for good luck for Lieber...worked last Saturday for Corey and me.

If, at worst, they are still down a full game going into the weekend, they have a shot (though it likely means the play-in game) - ESPECIALLY if San Diego loses in Arizona tonight too. If it gets to 2 at any point, it's basically over.

you forgot one very important part of Hideki Irabu's nickname courtesy of George Stienbrenner, it's "Fat Pussy Toad." And that's pussy as in puss from a festering open wound, not a vagina

Bad news...Colorado stinks.

8-3 Dodgers in the bottom of the 3rd...was 3-0 Rockies, but BK Kim decided to pretend it was the 2001 World Series again. Phils must win tonight.

At least Penny is already out of the game...so if Colorado can battle back against the Dodgers' pen...who knows...

You know, as mad as we were about Monday and Tuesday's losses, we should be more mad about the 10-14 April we had with a semi-easy schedule. Or more mad about the shitty June/July. Phillies should have this Wild Card in the bag, but instead we're scoreboard watching the fricken Dodgers and hoping the Phils don't shit the bed the next 4 games...sad isn't it?! Still exciting though.

Good ol' fashioned slugfest going on in Colorado right now. Rocks up 10-9 in the 5th...come on Rockies!

Harry looked Asian in that video. Karma needs to serve the Phillies well. If they have another game like they did last night, I'll have a heart attack.

Homers flying off the dodger bats in the 6th. 12-10 they lead. Another crazy day. Go Rockies!

I seriously hate the Dodgers more than the Yankees right now...I didn't think that was humanly possible.

This is from a post near the beginning of the season before any of you ever read this-

Recipe for Disaster:
1 lock of Mitch Williams' hair, 1 smashed Chris Wheeler microphone, the threads from the Joe Carter homerun ball, Danny Tartabull's contract, a clump of Rheal Cormier's hemorrhoids, the Julio Franco, Ryne Sandberg, and Curt Schilling trades, Mike Lieberthal's glove, 1 Dave Hollins' spider bite, a pinch of John Kruk's and Lenny Dykstra's chew, 2 Tomas Perez whipped cream pies, a slathering of pine tar from Jim Thome's batting helmet, Jose Mesa's blown saves, and a dash of Doug Jones' "filthy" array of changeups. *Season to taste with salt, pepper, and plenty of sarcasm.

That should exorcise those demons!

*by the way, you should go back through the archives and check out some of our early stuff...pretty funny.

17-11 Dodgers. I guess the humidor was turned off today. I wouldn't rule this game over quite yet, though...

I'm glad Colorado got the 2-point conversion...if Plummer can lead one last touchdown drive, this might turn out okay...

GM-Carson said...

Seriously, how the hell do the Dodgers score 17 runs through 7? This is disheartening...stupid Dodgers, stupid Rockies...stupid Phillies!

GM-Carson said...

All is well if Jake "the Snake" is leading the 2 minute drill.

BENTZ said...

Maybe Elway can come back to lead "The Drive"...

Looks like the weather in D.C. is horrible. Meaning, most likely no game. So the Phils will probably head down to Miami for 3 this weekend 1.5 games back and have to do a makeup game on Monday if necessary and it damn well better be necessary!

I really hope they can get this game in tonight. Phils need to answer back with another win, not wait around thinking about it even more. Their a bunch of mental-midgets!

BENTZ said...

19-11...now they need the TD and 2-point conversion...where's Earnest Byner to fumble??

Perhaps the Dodgers will leave their bats now in Denver...

BENTZ said...

I was wondering about the weather today...that would be rough if they don't play, but I'd rather postpone it than deal with a chance of a shortened game or play in slop. Radar looks awful for DC...just head on to Miami and we'll come back Monday if necessary!

BENTZ said...

I'm sorry, this game should've been called a long time ago and the Phillies should be on their way to Miami...starting this game 4.5 hours after it was supposed to start is insane!!

BENTZ said...

I'm sorry...and this is going to sound like sour grapes...but that was absolutely ridiculous to play that game. You just can't make a team in a playoff race wait FOUR AND A HALF HOURS to play a game, then, not to mention travel to Florida. OK, if it's the afternoon, fine. Not 11:30 at night. Thanks Major League Baseball..way to take us out of the playoff race.

The Phillies, between this insane decision and the blown calls, have been screwed more often this week than Paris Hilton. Ridiculous.

Its gotta be over now. A tough series, tough way to go out. Thanks for the fun Phils, it's been a good ride the last few months. Phry the fish and hope the Giants sweep LA for a miracle.

Guess it's time to get reacquainted with the "wife and kids".
Cross off Saturday's game on FOX; instead we'll be at Rock 'n Roar at the Phila Zoo where Lunch Money will perform "It Only Takes One Night to Make a Balloon Your Friend".

Honest.

Of course, it all depends on the baloon

BloodStripes said...

I reckon SF will win the series against LA. Its all up to the Phils to sweep. I got a feeling we are gonna rise and fall one more time. Hopefully we just rise.

GM-Carson said...

What the hell?!

I went to bed around 10ish thinking they were just going to call the game. It's bullshit that they even went on to play the game last night. What else is bullshit is the fact that the Phillies #1 offense failed to show up yet again. 2 games back with 3 to go...no-f'n-chance!

I must hate myself for being a Phillies fan.
