"Amen" from the Bobbleheads!

I know it's Tuesday, but in the Church of Baseball every day is for worshipping. So sit back and enjoy a riveting sermon from the sanctimonious Rev. Drama Queen and his clanking choir of Bobbleheads.

*Can I get an "Amen" for a 13-0 Phils victory over the Mets?

*Praise Jesus for Cole Hamels!

*Thank you Lord for Chase Utley!

*Holy Moses the Pirates are on a winning streak!

*Oh Zeus, thank you for your thunderstick in the form of Ryan Howard.

*Much love to Mohammed for the pleasure of watching Freddy Sanchez.

*Thank you Shiva for bringing the Pirates a respectable catcher in the body of Ronny Paulino.

*Rub-a-dub-dub of Buddha's belly for the Legend and Lore of Fabio "Model Dictator" Castro.

*Big shout out to the Bible, Koran, and whatever religious readings for the likes of Chris Coste, Jason Bay, Brett Myers, David Dellucci, Jack Wilson, Jose Castillo, Mike Gonzalez, Shane Victorino, Jimmy Rollins, and any other Phucco that decides to play well!

*Screw Tom Cruise and the Church of Science!

~Carson

P.S. If you found this to be blasphemous...chill out, Jesus had a sense of humor!

Hamels has put together 4 REALLY good starts in a row. By the way, whatever happened to that Gavin Floyd "blue-chipper?"

GM-Carson said...

Floyd is toiling in Scranton. Not pitching abysmally like he did in Philly, but not pitching lights-out by any means either. He may be a September callup.

Amen to that! Nice work against the Mets, by the way. But not to worry about Jay Bay, I think. The injury strikes me as mostly a good excuse to give him a little rest. Let's not be greedy, now... one little game is nothing. I've had Freddy Sanchez on my fantasy team since before Jim Tracy realized that Joe Randa was not the man for the job at third base. If Bay isn't back by the end of the series, then it's time to start worrying.

Wouldn't it be lovely to have the STATE finish out the '06 season with winning months. The Phills aren't far from having a winning August, and the Pirates could still turn it around and give hope for next season.

*By the way- I feel like David Hasslehoff helping to bring down the Berlin Wall with this blog about Pirates and Phillies...reuniting the STATE to make us stronger!!!

Ha! That is, until the Bucs and the Phils meet in the NLCS next year. You can't cheer for both teams!

If the Pirates and Phillies meet in the NLCS next season I'll shave my nuts and donate the hair to Wig4Men.com! I'd be more than happy to choose a side if the circumstances came down to that...and my side would be Phillies. I have an unhealthy obsession with the Phils, and a fascination with the Buccos. See where I'm comin' from?

Che said...

Definitely. Speaking of that, could you tell Tom Gordon to get better soon? My fantasy team needs some saves.

I'm disappointed that one who calls himself Che would turn his back on comrade Castro. Viva la revolution!

Who the hell thought that this offense was going to miss Sir Walks Alot Bobby Abreu? Not me!!!

This offense has a chip on their shoulder now and is clicking...they no longer Abreu lullying them to sleep at the plate.

Amen Rev. Drama Queen. Praise be to the Phillies. Cruisy Abreu has been replaced by the intense Utley and is has caught on. The Phils are playing hard and enjoying their baseball and winning!

BloodStripes- I now deem you worth to be this blogs Rally Cry! Your duty is to come here daily with an infusion of optimism/positiveness!

Nice prayers! Does Clout leave comments here? He seems to have disappeared. I worry about the poor boy.

Oh, yea, and I need a Phillies Pez dispensor. I didn't realize that my life was incomplete.

BloodStripes said...

LOL. Thanks. I'll try my best. I am in Australia so I dont always get to catch the games live, but I will try to give a dose of it whenever I can.

BloodStripes said...

Yeah those Pez dispensors are cool. Phillie lollies!

Lake Fred said...

Bloodstripes, are you living in Australia or just visiting? You obviously have Philly roots.

It would be very fitting if Castro was on my fantasy team... my team's name is simply "Che"... but I don't have the kind of room to pick up a relief pitcher who doesn't get saves. My fantasy league also doesn't track "Country Saves" as a stat. Plus, the real (Fidel) Castro has one blown save in one attempt, in that category.

Lake Fred, I am a born and bred Aussie who plays and loves the game of baseball. Unfortunately I have never even been to Philly. My only roots to Philly are you guys.
When I was knee high to a grasshopper I bought a baseball digest magazine. Read something about Mike Schmidt and thought, "yep, he is the man. I'm going for the Phillies". It was important at that age that I thought their cap was cool too. So then and there the Phillies were my baseball team. I have loads of Phillies books, pennants, cards, etc. I'm a true fan.

One day soon when my kids are a bit older we are coming to the USA for a baseball tour. So look out Philly! I'll meet you all at the ballpark.

BloodStripes said...

I should also say. I have been to 3 MLB games. All at Anahiem in the eighties. Saw Reggie Jackson hit a couple of home runs. etc, etc. I heartily cheered for the Angels, all the while wearing my Phils cap.

GM-Carson said...

Lake Fred- welcome to the blog! By the way, I'm an avid PEZ collector, started about 4 years ago and am up to about 225 dispensers (no doubles).

BloodStripes- when you make your voyage to the States, let me know...we'll catch a game together. I'll even buy you a Fosters. That's all you drink right? hahaha

BloodStripes said...

You can hardly buy a fosters here anymore. Years ago we drank it by the jug. Nowadays its made mainly for export. VB is the big choice here now. Victoria Bitter. When a hard earned thirst needs a big cold beer. That beer is Vic. Victoria Bitter. Or as we like to call it. Vitamin B. Whatever the drop, would love to have a beer with ya at the ballpark. Whats the local Philly drop? And while I'm asking. I've been wanting to know this for years. Whats a hoagie?

joe said...

>Whats the local Philly drop?

Yuengling Lager. A "good" american beer. seriously.

>Whats a hoagie?

The same thing as a Submarine, or Hero or Grinder. Meats and cheeses on a long roll.

Che said...

Mmm, hoagies and Yuengling. Something a Pittsburgher can appreciate as well.

GM-Carson said...

BloodStripes- my father-in-law only drinks Yuengling Premium and refers to it as "Vitamin Y" and "Nectar of the Gods"...and holy shit, you didn't know what a hoagie was!

BloodStripes said...

Nope but I am dying to eat one.
